What to expect when you visit the clinic
The Allergy Clinic of San Marcos strives
to render personalised, comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of for patients
suffering from allergic disorders.
Consultation
Your doctor can get some insight into your allergies based on your family
and personal medical records, and by asking plenty of questions to find out
what potential allergens with which you may have come into contact. Any records
from previous tests or testing should be requested before your first visit.
Download the authorization form using the link below, or call the office so
we may assist you in this procedure.
Diagnosis
Based on the result of your interview and our experience diagnosing allergies
in the Central Texas area, we will schedule special tests for the suspected
allergens in your individual case.
Treatment
The first step of allergy management is to remove it from the affected persons
environment. If avoidance measures cannot be implemented, you may need to
use preventer and reliever medication. If necessary, desensitisation injections
are used to induce allergen tolerance and reduce the intensity of the allergic
reaction.
Followup
We will be available to you whenever you have medical questions or medical
needs. One specific physician, Dr. Cobb, will be your doctor, however there
will be times when he is unavailable. In this case, others in the practice
may occasionally take care of you when you are ill.
We never double-book appointments,
so patients DO NOT WAIT
in our lobby.
